What To Pack

The secret of success on tour

We recommend the use of a comfortable and sturdy travel backpack or duffel bag; whichever is easiest for you to carry. A good size daypack is also essential for hikes and day excursions.

Toiletries

We strongly recommend to only use biodegradable soaps and shampoos while camping to protect the local water systems.

Clothing

Your clothing should be easy to wash and dry and should preferably not need ironing. Avoid synthetics, which can be very uncomfortable in hot weather.

You should pack the following

Kit for all weather conditions including:

  • 2/3 shorts/skirts
  • 1 jacket/anorak
  • Tracksuit/pullover
  • 2 pairs of long pants/jeans
  • 2 pairs of walking shoes/boots/trainers
  • 1 pair of sandals
  • 3 or 4 T-shirts/short sleeve shirts or sundresses
  • 2/3 Long Sleeve Shirts
  • Smart casual change of clothes
  • Swimwear
  • Underwear & socks
  • Sun Hat – preferably that covers the back of your neck.
  • Raincoat

We recommend lightweight cotton clothing. long trousers and t-shirts may be more appropriate. Let’s not forget thin towels, sun hats, sunscreen, insect repellent and leech socks. For most tours, bring along your swimwear, as there are chances to slake off the tropical heat with a dip at a river or waterfall. Moreover, we recommend you bring light rainwear such as raincoats or waterproof jackets because there will be encounters with rain. Please make sure you have something dry to change into and wrap all your clothes and belongings in a plastic/zip-lock bag when packing.
