Day 01: Libreville

Welcome to Gabon! Upon arrival at the Libreville International Airport, you will meet your main guide. After greetings, you will be transfered at your hotel,Tropicana Hotel which is a pretty nice and famous place alongside Libreville beaches, then you are free to chill a little bit.

Day 02: Libreville

On day 2, we start with the breakfast at 7am then at 8am, we go on hikes in the forest with local guides to identify and learn about local plant. This is going to be your first contact with the Gabonese tropical forest.We will walk 6 hours (include the way back) through the jungle to reach the Atlantic Ocean. It’s a really famous tour just because you will learn a lot about the local uses of many tropical plants and trees in the traditional medicine and cuisine.  
We will have a picnic lunch on the Atlantic Ocean beach then after get back to the hotel, you’ll have a short rest before going for city sightseeing.
At 3pm, we will spend a final couple of hours exploring the city. We will visit ‘Mont Bouet’ the main local market and the Museum of Arts and Traditions and some interesting places and building in Libreville.
At 7pm, it’s the dinner. you will get to know the Gabonese dishes in a really nice restaurant in Libreville.

Day 03: Lambaréné

At 7.30am is the breakfast then at 8.30am we will leave from Libreville to Lambaréné on land. We will spend 3.30 hours driving on the national number 1 watching the amazing people and villages surrounding the road.
Up on arrival in Lambaréné, we will have a lunch at 12pm, then we go for a city tour following by a visit of Albert Schweitzer museum and hospital.
At 3 pm, we will go for 2 hours on canoe rolls from Lambaréné on the Ogooué river to the beautiful Lake Evaro.  Which is a peninsula of one hectare in the heart of the forest. This place will offer you a botanical show through its forest, its curtains of lianas, the small houses of the small villages myènè, which punctuate your ride. So follow your journey and let yourself emerge-vigil by Lake Onangué which is close to those of Ezanga and Oguemoué. In the distance, you will see fishing huts on stilts, lakes scattered with wooded islands and sandbanks. We never tire of admiring these landscapes. Go around the lake Steamed from the southwest, we arrive in a vast savannah area. You can hike if you are not too tired.
On your way back to the Ambila River you will find the Ngomo Protestant Mission. It was founded a century ago and abandoned by missionaries moment of independence. This mission includes a set of five one-storey buildings, built of stone, bearing the names of the continents. Some have been rehabilitated by Peace Volunteers. However, the beautiful pink brick church is collapsing more and more.
At 7pm for dinner we will go for the really famous street food in Lambaréné, it’s a barbecue of carp fish with vegetable and bananas or patotoes.

Day 04: Lambaréné to Sette Cama

At 7am is the breakfast then at 8am we will leave from Lambaréné to Sette Cama on land. We will spend 8 hours driving on the national number 1 to get to Gamba and enjoying watching the amazing landscapes and villages surrounding the road. In Gamba, we take  a dug-out canoe for 1.30 hour to Sette Cama.
Sette Cama is the last village south of the Loango National Park, it’s tongue of land between the lagoon Ndogo and the Atlantic Ocean. The lagoon, beautiful at the approach of the mouth, welcomes hippos, while elephants and buffaloes sometimes appear to turn a water arm or on the beach. In the mangroves, you will see many small animals particularly amphibians and in the forest, you can admire the huge trees with birds frolic and primates.
At 7pm, in a cooking class, we will cook a new local dish for dinner then set a campfire for the night.

Day 05: Sette Cama (South of Loango National Park)

Day 06 - 07: Loango National Park (Akaka forest camp)

After your breakfast at 8 am, we will go on boat to Akaka where we will spend two full days in a wild camp in the bush. It’s 2 hours drive on the lagoon enjoying the amazing nature and wildlife of Loango National Park.
Akaka forest camp has 5 comfortable tents, each with 2 single beds, ensuite bathroom with (outside) shower, basin and toilet, mounted on a platform with private terrace facing the forest.  
Immerse yourself in the natural splendor of one of the remotest parts of Loango National Park... Viewing superb panorama ,watch and enjoy the birds from the lounge area,spot wildlife around the camp.All possible right from the restaurant terrace.
In the dry season, thousands of water birds herons, storks, jacanas, pelicans, ibis and the rarely seen Hartlaubs duck love crowding together here in the drying pools.
Leave the world and all its worries behind. Akaka is allowing you plenty of time to capture the essence of Gabon. Sleep amidst the sounds of the jungle and immerse yourself in a peaceful forest setting, which allows all your senses to be overwhelmed by the natural wonder.

During your stay at Akaka forest Camp, you can head out into the forest or onto the river  and have the chance to experience face to face encounters with forest elephants on the river banks or hippos.
The lunch is at 12pm after the first expedition and the dinner at 7pm after the afternoon expedition. Once again, you will learn cooking a new local dish for the dinner.

Day 08: Loango National Park to Port-Gentil

After your breakfast at 8am, we will have a last expedition on boat and by foot in the jungle then at 12pm after lunch, we will leave from Akaka to Port-Gentil.
In Port-Gentil, at 5pm we will have a short city sightseeing then at 7pm you will have your dinner with local dishes.

Day 09: Port-Gentil to Pointe Denis

- Eco-tour, Boat-tour, Cooking class, Camp Fire, Relaxing on sand beach, Turtles Watching Tour.

At 8.30 am, we will get a local flight from Port-Gentil to Libreville but before we will have a coffee at the airport. At 9.05 am, we get to Libreville then we will have a breakfast. We will then spend a final couple of hours exploring the city before having our boat to Pointe Denis.
In Pointe Denis at night, you will have a cooking class then after the dinner we set up a campfire while waiting for the good time for turtle patrol from 11pm to 5am.
Gabon is home to one of the largest leatherback populations in the world. In the turtle season, from October to February, you can venture out at night with an eco-guide to look for nesting marine turtles. In total, four species of marine turtles can be found nesting on Gabon’s beaches. The leatherback and the olive ridley nest here regularly but the green turtle and the hawksbill turtle only nest here on rare occasions.

Day 10: Pointe Denis

After the breakfast at 8 am, we will spend a final couple of hours exploring the majestic mangroves of Pongara National Park. You can admire the mangroves with stilt roots, these mangroves teem with life. The tangle of roots, which stabilizes the soil and protects it from storms and erosion, provides shelter to millions of fish, frogs, crabs,
and mudskippers: a curious little fish can move out of the water as a frog hunt for insects. The beaches Pongara, too, are very popular with coastal wildlife. sometimes you can see the traces of hippos and crocodiles between the lagoons and the sea.
At 6pm, you will have a cooking class then after the dinner we set up a campfire while waiting for the good time for turtle patrol.

Day 11: Libreville

we will spend a final couple of hours exploring the mangroves of Pongara National Park and enjoy the estuary breezes and relaxing on the sand beach before transferring to the airport for your flight back home.
