Experience a deep exploration of two of the most famous national parks in Africa, Lope National Park the oldest in Gabon and Loango National Park the most famoust in the country.
We begin with a visit to the Lope National Park where we have the opportunity to tick off viewing the world’s largest population of Mandrills. The largest group of primates ever recorded is a troop of 1,350 mandrills sighted in the park. For safety reasons, we’ll be tracking a part of this large group between 150 and 300 individuals. The next day we’ll spend time with lowland gorillas and have a fantastic chance to observe chimpanzees in Mikongo rainforest.
Our journey continue to Loango National Park the most famous wildlife reserve in Gabon also know as “The Last Eden”. For animal lovers, Loango is a true paradise on earth. Situated in the middle west of the country, the park covers an incredible range of eco-systems, from savannas to pristine, unoccupied beaches; from seemingly untouched virgin rain forests to the serpentine bends and gnarls of mangrove forests, and offers many sights for any true nature anthusiast such as opportunities to witness hippos surfing the waves off the beach, spotting big mammals such as the forest elephant, red forest buffalo, red river hogs , sitatunga, various duiker species, a variety of monkey species, a huge array of birds.
